Easy Turkey Dinner
Got this from the slowcookers list at Yahoo. At first, I was doctoring it
up, using frozen real cranberries, onions, broth, etc. I got very lazy this
morning and made it the simple way that the recipe suggested and it is so
much better than my "advanced version." You must suspend your disbelief and
make this:
1 whole turkey breast, with the bone
1 can whole berry cranberry sauce
1 pkg onion soup mix (I used a good brand -- Knorr, with lots of Onion
bits).
Fling the turkey into the slow cooker. It should be breast up. Pour cranberry sauce around it. Pour soup mix on top of the breast and around it. It needs no other liquid as the turkey will throw off plenty. Set on low all day.
Come home to a house that smells great, make roasted potatoes with garlic and rosemary, and some kind of green vegetable and you are done.
I am embarrassed to even say that this was as good as it was (being a culinary snob) but it really was and took all of two minutes to throw together.
Ciao,
